Cherry, yellow pine

Circa 1810

A sophisticated form interpreted in a rural setting right along the Virginia/Tennessee border. The two leaves are held up by sliding battens below the table surface rather than the usual knuckle joint and support system.  Nice thick stock and a mellow finish.  Rare form for the region.
