While the demilune or semicircular form is common among period pier tables and card tables, it is much less so in sideboards. This Baltimore example is extensively inlaid with circles, ovals, stringing and bell flowers characteristic of the the city’s best sideboards. The secondary woods are poplar and yellow pine. Their are old leg repairs (within the case) and minor veneer losses and small repairs – “commensurate with age and use”.
