Georges Louis Le Rouge produced a number of sea charts for use by the French Navy during the Revolutionary War many of which were included in his Atlas Ameriquain Septentrionale. The manuscript chart were the work of Nathaniel Pocock of whom little is known. This map depicts the coast from Cape Fear to South Edisto Island. There are also town plans for Charleston and Georgetown, depth soundings and bearing lines to major landmarks and lighthouses and seven profile views of the coast from an offshore ship’s perspective.
Some soiling and light staining.
