18th century with 19th century alterations
Western North Carolina
Originally built as a child’s day bed, this bed is constructed from the frame of a larger 18th century bed. It was reworked in the first half of the 19th century when the boldly shaped headboard was added and the frame cut down to fabricate a child’s size bed. In the 21st century it’s best use is perhaps for your Golden Retriever or posse of Jack Russells. Sturdy, indestructible and a one-of-a-kind napping perch for your canine best friend.
A custom mattress with a removable ticking stripe cover is included but not pictured.
