Commentary: Carey produced the second edition of his general atlas which contained a large proportion of newly engraved maps in 1814. Unlike the 1795 American Atlas and the General Atlas of 1811, which were issued in black and white with color as an option, the second General Atlas was the first in the United States to employ standard color.

Condition: The map is in good condition and has been professionally cleaned and backed with Japanese paper.
