TIGER MAPLE & CHERRY PRIMARY – CIRCA 1830
HIGHLY CREATIVE COMBINATION OF TURNINGS, CARVING AND WOOD GRAINS
DIMENSIONS 27” H, 21” W, 15” D

This charming, small chest is one of at least two from the same shop in central North Carolina. The partitioned top drawer has no metal lock but is secured by a wooden spring lock on the drawer bottom, sometimes called a Quaker lock, accessed through the center drawer. The bee hive turnings on the stiles are applied while the edge of the chest’s top is carved. The original tall, turned feet and well shaped skirt complete the package.
