The Kalo Shop was founded in Chicago in 1900 by Clara Barck and 5 fellow female graduates of the Art Institute. By 1908 she founded a school for mostly female artists and designers known as the “Kalo Girls” and were responsible for producing some of the best examples of modern design in silver.
