This charming, small writing table belongs to a small group of tables and cellarettes MESDA has attributed to the Greensville, County area of Virginia. At least one similar example was recorded in and (probably erroneously) attributed to Wilkes County, GA An earlier example of the form attributed to the Roanoke River Basin can be found in the Colonial Williamsburg Collection cataloged as No. 87 in Southern Furniture.
